This Christmas, Horncastle Tree of light in association with the Lions are working together so that people associated with the town and local area can remember someone close to them who has died and, at the same time, make a contribution to important local charities.
By donating money to the appeal, one of the bulbs on the Tree of Light will be dedicated and lit to the memory of the nominated person, with all proceeds being passed on to the local hospices.
The Charities selected for support this year are:
The Tree of Light is situated close to the town centre at Stowe Corner, at the junction of East Street and South Street. A living Christmas tree, it was planted by the Lions Club some time ago and is growing steadily taller as each year goes by. Now that it is getting better known, it was hoped that we could easily exceed the 420 sponsored bulbs we achieved in 2024. The tree lighting (switch on) was on Friday 12th December at 6.30pm and it will remain lit throughout the Christmas period.
